Report: EU not to apply new sanctions against Russia till February
BRUSSELS, Jan 26 (PRIME) -- The E.U. will not introduce new measures to punish Russia for the Ukrainian crisis until January ends, newspaper EUObserver reported Monday, citing an E.U. diplomatic source.
"The last foreign ministers’ meeting decided that sanctions decisions will be handled on the highest level only -- this means the next E.U. summit (in February)," the source told the newspaper.
Earlier on Monday, Maya Kosyanchich, spokeswoman for E.U. Foreign Minister Federica Mogherini, said that Europe is ready either to scale up or scale down the sanctions, depending on the how the events unfold in Ukraine.
